BP says Russian gas to remain attractive for Europe

VERONA, Italy, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- Russian gas will remain one of attractive energy sources for Europe in the future, while Europe will remain the main export gas market for Russia, Vladimir Drebentsov, vice president of BP Russia, said at a forum Thursday.

Domestic consumption of Russian gas is not expected to grow much in the future, as gas already plays a significant role, but as gas reserves are solid Russia requires export markets, he said.

“And, as we think, the European market will remain one of the most attractive for Russian gas. Moreover, we think that Russian gas will remain one of the most attractive sources of gas for Europe,” Drebentsov said.
